Meeting Jordan Johnson, a pipefitter on the Olympic Park.
What do you do?
“I am an apprentice pipe fitter working on the heating and air conditioning systems in the venues. My work includes carrying pipes, working in basements, fitting brackets to pipe work, crimpling and cutting pipes.”
When did you start working on the Olympic site?
“I started working here in spring 2009. I was 17 years old then.
I am working my apprenticeship so I am on a heating and ventilation course as well as working on the site.”
What do you like about working on the Olympic Site?
“When it’s finished I can say that I worked on one of the Olympic Park attractions. To be able to say that I did my apprenticeship on the Olympic Park is unique.”
