Students accross the UK are creating short films for the BT Big Voice Competition.
Budding film-makers explore the issue of bullying
13 Jan 2012
A group of talented young film-makers at South Cheshire College in Crewe have tackled the challenging issue of bullying.
Students at the college have created a short film for the BT Big Voice Competition. After coming up with the original concept, they then teamed up with students at Liverpool John Moores University to turn the idea into a real film, thanks to a grant provided by BT.
The film, entitled ‘Score High’, explores how the fear of bullying can lead to isolation and social exclusion, and follows two football fan friends as they embark upon two very different days.
Big Voice is a national competition for students, created by BT as part of the Education Programme supporting the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The competition encourages students to explore issues of diversity and inclusion in local communities, and aims to build collaborative links between students aged 11–19 and students who are on film and TV production courses around the country.
‘Score High’, along with all the completed films from the competition, will be shown on city centre video screens during the lead-up to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, as well as at special Live Site events at selected locations throughout the UK.
