Lord Lawson of Beamish school is Get Set school of the month!

During the academic year of 2010, Lord Lawson of Beamish school started to plan how they could excite and inspire students using the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
During the course of the acedmemic year, students have been introduced to the Olympic and Paralympic Values through assemblies and a wide range of cross curriculum activities. Students have tried out a number of Olympic sports including rowing and volleyball. A group of students even visited the Olympic park and learnt about the site during an Olympic inspired lesson at the View Tube.
Being in the North-East of England, Lord Lawson of Beamish school want to make sure that all of their students feel involved and get excited in the build up to the Games.
The school was selected as the ‘Get Set network school of the month’ a result of their brilliant blog posts displaying their Olympic and Paralympic inspired activities. The school will receive an athlete visit as a reward for their efforts and a letter of congratulations from Seb Coe.
