‘Plan your 2012’ grant applications now open!
11 Oct 2011

Working with the Department for Education we are inviting members of the Get Set network in England to apply for grants to lead activities which encourage other schools to make the most of the London 2012 Games over the next academic year.

Are you an active, creative member of the Get Set network?

Are you already driving Get Set network applications from schools within your community?

Do you have some great ideas about how to encourage and support other teachers to run Get Set activities in their schools?

If you think you could lead a project to inspire other schools to engage with the London 2012 Games and have a lasting impact on children and young people, we would like you to apply for a ‘Plan your 2012’ grant of up to £8,800.

We’ve got some great examples of schools and colleges that were awarded grants in the pilot stage of the project and are delivering a range of activities including:

– A special school will turn their annual sports day into a mini disability games, inviting young physically disabled students from mainstream schools to participate.

– A secondary school will be creating a multi-lingual sports event for local schools, using the resources provided through Get Set goes global.

– A primary school will initiate an ‘Ultimate League’ across its school cluster to enable children to engage in Olympic and Paralympic sports and demonstrate the Olympic and Paralympic Values.

Important information:

– You can apply for a grant of up to £8,800.
– You must apply by Friday 4th November 2011.
– This programme is only open to schools in England that have applied to join the Get Set network.
– Terms and conditions apply

To apply, download the guidance and application form and return it to planyour2012@london2012.com no later than Friday 4 November 2011.
