Haygrove School is a Get Set network school of the month!
24 Nov 2011

Haygrove School is embracing the Olympic and Paralymic Values, inspiring students to get involved and be a part of London 2012!

Haygrove School recently recruited new Young Ambassadors for this acedemic year. The Young Ambassadors aim to inspire their peers to choose sport using the power of London 2012. They attended a conference in Exeter to learn about their role and responsibilities and returned enthused by the Olympic and Paralympic athletes and buzzing with ideas!

In the past academic year, Haygrove School has organised Olympic festivals for over 80 primary school students, offering a vast range of activities including high jump, relay, sprint, basketball, hurdles, javelin, hockey and golf.

Haygrove’s Young Ambassadors have also delivered assemblies on past and previous Games, the Olympic and Paralympic Values and have even introduced younger students to the mascots, Wenlock and Mandeville. The Young Ambassadors hope to continue to deliver a series of festivals and assemblies, spreading the word about Get Set and London 2012.

The school was selected as a Get Set network school of the month on the basis of their outstanding blog posts describing the activities that the students have been involved in. The school will receive a letter of congratulations from Seb Coe, Chair of the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games and a surprise visit from a London 2012 guest!
