Sainsbury’s Active Kids award
7 Mar 2011

At the recent Youth Sport Trust School Sports College Conference, Chadsgrove School and Specialist Sports College was awarded 100,000 Active Kids vouchers to redeem against equipment and experiences for all their great work carried out over the past year.

Chadsgrove, which is a member of the Get Set network was chosen for the development of their coordinated approach to parental engagement within the school. Led by the Director of Specialism, they conducted an audit and then hosted a ‘lunch and discuss’ event which gave parents of young people with a disability an opportunity to share their views – and for the school and parents to draft a ‘wish list’ of activities that parents would like and the school might provide.

One of many further developments is the family workshops that the school runs. These take place termly and offer students and parents the chance to take part in a variety of activities such as outdoor play.

Congratulations Chadsgrove!
