Get Set network school of the month for March 2011!
24 Mar 2011
Wantage C of E primary school in Oxfordshire has been selected as the Get Set network school of the month!
At Wantage C of E Primary School, our children are very excited about the Olympic and Paralympic Games coming to London. Over the past three weeks, students have taken part in a wide range of activities inspired by the Games and the Olympic and Paralympic Values. The activities have included; creating a breakfast fit for an Olympian, designing versions of Wenlock and Mandeville, creating Olympic inspired t-shirt designs, performing an Olympic themed opening ceremony and some students have even recreated some of the Olympic village in the playground! Students have demonstrated excellence, friendship and respect while learning about how to live healthy and active lifestyles and proudly wear badges to acknowledge that they have been living the Olympic and Paralympic Values. The whole school is very proud to have been selected as the Get Set network school of the month!
The school was selected on the basis of an outstanding blog post describing the activities that the students have been involved in. The school will receive a letter of congratulations from Seb Coe, Chair of the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games and they have won a visit from an athlete as a reward for their efforts.
