Get Set to make your mascot secondary competition winners!
27 Jun 2011

‘Get Set to make your mascot’ invited secondary schools to undertake a project to find out about their local area and customise Wenlock or Mandeville to represent something that is special about their community.

Hundreds of secondary schools entered the competition, just 30 were shortlisted to spend a day in London and attend the national final. The finalists got the opportunity see the Olympic Park and meet Olympic gold medalist Jonathan Edwards and wheelchair basketball player Ade Adepitan, who were also on the panel of judges choosing the winning projects.

The finalists showcased their presentation skills as they pitched their mascot designs to the panel and shared them with the other schools. They then took part in a question and answer session with the panel. The judges had a difficult decision on their hands but they eventually selected the 12 winning designs.
