What is it like to be on the School Leavers’ Programme?
Peter Barron a Platinum Young Ambassador from Macclesfield joined the School Leavers’ Programme in 2010. We spoke to Peter about why he applied for the programme and what he has gained from it so far:
“During the summer of 2010 I was unsure whether to proceed with the ‘same old’ university path and therefore I made the decision that you can delay higher education but delaying the Games is not an option. If I wanted to be a part of the Games in some capacity, now was the time to have a go.
I have learnt a range of skills including; how to conduct myself professionally in a business environment, when to listen and when to speak up and I have also become more confident at making my own decisions.
Overall, I have met some amazing individuals and look forward to work every day because I know I will meet yet another inspiring colleague. If you work hard you will certainly enjoy yourself here.”
