Fleetville Junior School is a Get Set network school of the month!
15 Dec 2011

Fleetville Junior School’s students are living the Olympic and Paralympic Values and leading the way to London 2012!

Fleetville have established their own Get Set Olympic & Paralympic committee. The year 5 and 6 committee students have been working together to increase awareness and excitement for the London 2012 Games. The committee set the pupils at Fleetville the challenge of designing a new mascot called FRED ICE to represent all of the Olympic and Paralympic Values. The winning mascot will feature on school certificates which will reward students who have demonstrated commitment to the values. The certificates will be presented in assemblies and winning students will be in with a chance to receive a ticket to the London 2012 Games.

The school are currently planning their own Olympic and Paralympic Week for July 2012, in which students will learn more about the Games and have the opportunity to take part in a variety of Olympic and Paralympic sports!

The school was selected as a Get Set network school of the month on the basis of their outstanding blog posts describing the activities that the students have been involved in. The school will receive a letter of congratulations from Seb Coe, Chair of the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games and a surprise visit from a London 2012 guest!
