29 Nov 2010

Congratulations to Charlotte nursery and infant school in Ilkeston!

Charlotte nursery and infant school in Ilkeston has been selected as the ‘Get Set Network school of the month’ for November as a result of their outstanding commitment to living the Olympic and Paralympic Values.

Here at Charlotte nursery and infant school, we have been promoting the Olympic and Paralympic Games since the beginning of the Get Set Campaign. We are all really excited about being part of London 2012 and have been involved in all sorts of events with our friends, families and teachers to bring the spirit of the games to everyone in our community both locally and internationally! Over the past two years we have been working on projects related to communication, collaboration and citizenship; enterprise and practical learning; healthy active lifestyles and sustainability. It has helped us to promote our school belief that every child deserves every chance, every day. We are not only proud, but extremely privileged to have been selected to be ‘Get Set Network school of the month’ and look forward to continuing with our Get Set Campaign right up to the Games in 2012.

The school was selected as a result of their brilliant blog posts displaying their Olympic and Paralympic inspired window paintings, notice boards and references to their entries for our Get Set to make your mascot competiton. The school will receive an athlete visit as a reward for their efforts and a letter of congratulations from Seb Coe.
