Suprise visit!
30 Nov 2010
Students from Chisenhale primary school were lucky enough to meet Wenlock, the London 2012 Olympic mascot and Paralympic gold medalist Danielle Brown.
The youngest students in the school were thrilled when Wenlock walked into their sports hall during an assembly about the Olympic and Pararlympic Values.
Students from the year 6 class then got a suprise visit from Danielle Brown, a Paralympic archer. Danielle went to Beijing as the youngest member of the GB archery squad and came home with a gold medal in the compound event. Students enjoyed taking part in a question and answer session with Danielle and they even got to try on Danielle medals for size! Danielle said ‘I’m excited about the prospect of competing in front of a home crowd in 2012 and defending my title.’
The school, which is a member of the Get Set network were selected for the visit as a result of their brilliant blog posts which explained how they were living the Olympic and Paralympic Values.
