'Get Set network school of the month' has been announced!
1 Nov 2010

The latest ‘Get Set Network school of the month’ is…Suttons primary school in Havering!

Suttons primary school in Havering has been selected as the ‘Get Set Network school of the month’ for October as a result of their outstanding commitment to living the Olympic and Paralympic Values.

Here at Suttons Primary school in Havering we have embraced the Values of the Olympic and Paralympic Games and are proud that it is one of our key topics. Children in years one and four visited the Olympic park in Stratford to get inspiration for nine window panels that have been produced working alongside an artist. This is the children’s legacy to the school. Students not only learn about the Olympic and Paralympic Values, but they have also celebrated a mini Games with the whole community through sports, singing, sign language and dance. We are also delighted to be able to work closely with local secondary schools to inspire everyone to participate in sport and encourage excellence throughout the curriculum. We are extremely proud to have been selected as the first ever primary school to be selected as the ‘Get Set network school of the month’.

The school was selected as a result of their brilliant blog posts displaying their Olympic and Paralympic inspired window panes. The school will receive an athlete visit as a reward for their efforts and a letter of congratulations from Seb Coe.
