Take Smallsteps4Life and be healthy and active!
14 May 2009

Smallsteps4Life will give schools another opportunity to get involved in a programme inspired by the London 2012 Games.

Launching later this year and running through to the London 2012 Games and beyond, Smallsteps4Life will encourage young people to take up achievable challenges across the themes of healthy eating, getting active and feeling good.

The prgramme and its supporting website will act as a stimulus to help schools and young people to start their very own Smallsteps4Life journey.

Schools and young people across the UK will have the opportunity to inspire each other through sharing their experiences on the website. In doing so, they’ll join together in bringing it to life and taking their small, fun steps towards a healthier lifestyle.

Young people’s involvement and creativity has already had a big say in the development of the programme, and they will continue to have an important role in helping to develop Smallsteps4Life. In the coming months Smallsteps4Life and Get Set will update you on the work with young people, what they have been saying and how we are all working to bring their ideas and aspirations to life through the website.

The Food Standards Agency is working to develop the programme with a range of partners, including; Get Set, the Department for Children Schools and Families, the Department of Health and National Healthy Schools, the School Food Trust, Youth Sport Trust and the National Children’s Bureau.

In England the Smallsteps4Life programme will support the ChangeLlife programme.
