Search for new Paralympic stars
9 Jan 2009

As we enter 2009, ParalympicsGB turn their attention from Beijing to London and their search for the next generation of Paralympic stars.

On January 29, the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield will host a Paralympic Talent Day to identify and nurture new talent. This is the fifth in the series of talent spotting events which hope to identify athletes who could represent Britain at future Paralympic Games including London 2012.

ParalympicsGB Chief Executive Phil Lane said: ‘These talent days are part of our commitment to have the best ParalympicsGB team yet at the home Games in London in 2012. We’ve now got less than four years until the London Games so we need to act immediately to ensure that anyone with a potential talent is identified and put on to a sporting pathway.’

ParalympicsGB are looking for phyiscally active 13-25 year olds who fit into one of the following disability groups – cerebal palsy, visually impaired, spinal cord injuries, amputees or dwarfs.

If you think you have got what it takes then why not register to attend a talent spotting event?
