ParalympicsGB has announced that the next Paralympic Talent Day, the sixth of its kind, will be held in Manchester on June 4 2009
Paralympic talent search continues…
15 Apr 2009
The day will be held at Sportcity and will allow people with a disability to try lots of different Paralympic sports. Representatives from the sports will also test individuals to identify any potential talent which could be fast-tracked onto a sporting pathway.
The aim of the talent search is to identify and nurture new talent that could potentially represent GB at future Paralympic Games, including London 2012, and help to ensure that Britain stays as one of the leading nations in the world of Paralympic sport.
They are looking for young people aged 13-35 years who are physically active and have the desire to win from one of the following disability groups-cerebal palsy, visually impaired, spinal cord injuries, amputees or dwarfism.
Aspiring athletes who meet these criteria and think they have what it takes to be a Paralympian should pre-register to attend the day.
The chosen date follows the BT Paralympic World Cup (20-25 May) – keep an eye on Get Set to keep up to date with the World Cup action!
