The London 2012 Cultural Olympiad got kicked off this morning at the Tate.

The London 2012 Cultural Olympiad launched this morning. Olympic athletes including Sebatian Coe and Dame Kelly Holmes helped by sprinting to help create famous artist, Martin Creed, newest piece of work at the Tate Britain.
The event was part of Open Weekend, running until Sunday 28 September and featuring over 600 other events across the UK.
These events include outdoor performances, dance performances, film screenings, free entrance to hidden treasures at museums and lots more.
At 20.12 tonight (8.12pm) cultural venues will ‘light up’ in London 2012 colours.
Today also saw the raising of the official Olympic and Paralympic Flags at City Hall, handed over to Mayor of London Boris Johnson during the Closing Ceremony of the Beijing 2008 Games.
