The National Year of Reading, working with London 2012, is inviting children and young people across the country to take part in their new Words of Welcome competition.
Words of Welcome
6 Oct 2008
If you’re aged 3-19 years the Words of Welcome competition is inviting you to grab a camera, snap away and send in pictures of the words and signs that you feel represent your local area and what it means to be British
Maybe you have a famous street in your area? Perhaps there is a big graffiti mural or something written on a menu at your favourite restaurant? Maybe there is a great notice outside your favourite hangout like ‘Welcome’ written in lots of different languages?
Whatever it is, and whatever it says, why not take a picture of it and send it in? The best images will be displayed right here, on the Get Set website and you could be in with the chance of winning a visit from an Olympic or Paralympic athlete!
