Some of Britain's greatest Paralympians have been recognised for their outstanding achievements this summer, winning awards at the regional BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards.

Winners included Anne Durham, who was crowned BBC West Sports Personality of the Year and 14 year old swimmer Ellie Simmonds, who was named BBC Midlands Sports Personality of the Year.
Ellie was rewarded for her outstanding performance at the Beijing Paralympic Games, where she made history by becoming the youngest ever British Paralympian to win an individual gold medal – grabbing a second one a few days later! Ellis is also shortlisted for the National BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year Award.
