Did you know? The Olympic Park in East London will be the size of 357 football pitches when it is finished!
Construction, health and safety – learn to stay safe
The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA), who are responsible for the construction of the Olympic Park, are committed to making it a safe place to work, and the surrounding areas a safe place to live.
To help children and young people understand how to stay safe when living, playing or working near a construction site, they created an education initiative called ‘Safe’.
‘Safe’ was originally an interactive storytelling theatre performance and visited 75 of the the schools located closest to the Olympic Park. But East Londoners aren’t the only people living near a construction site, and the ODA wanted to use the power of the Games to help other young people understand how to stay safe too. So now you can download a set of resources which use the Olympic Park to demonstrate how to stay safe near a construction site.
