Challenge C – Customer service
Customer service is key to successful Games and can have a longer term impact on the image and perception of the UK – and its appeal as a destination.
For the ODA, the key customers for the Olympic and Paralympic Games are the athletes and the spectators. To meet the needs of these two client groups, the ODA has had to design high performing venues that accommodate thousands of visitors.
The Rio de Janeiro delegates will want to know about these design features of the Olympic Park and its venues that will ensure the needs of both athletes and spectators are fully met.
Prepare a presentation and accompanying notes for delegates to include:
- Why it is important that excellent facilities are provided to both athletes and spectators. What is the impact of this?
- Design features that will ensure optimum performance of athletes. Give examples of specific venues.
- Design elements that have ensured accessibility for all.
- Transport improvements that will ensure the timely and efficient movement of all at the Olympic and Paralympic venues.
