Bank of Scotland National School Sport Week, delivered in partnership with sportscotland, harnesses the power of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games to inspire young people to take part in a week-long celebration of sport and physical activity in schools.
Part of the biggest school sporting event in the UK, the programme will run alongside the Lloyds TSB National School Sport Week in England and Wales. The concept was created by the Youth Sport Trust and in 2009, over 10,500 schools and three million children took part.

Using London 2012 to inspire product design.

Human Race: inside the science of sports medicine, is inviting children and young people from across Scotland to design a sports related product to feature in an exhibition in London 2012. They are looking for a new innovative idea or product that could be used by the athlete of the future. It can be for any sport. You could choose to design a piece of equipment, sportswear, training equipment, medical equipment for treating injuries, aids that may help disabled athletes etc. The winning and shortlisted entries will feature as key exhibits in the Human Race touring exhibition and will tour throughout Scotland and London during the London 2012 Olympic Games. Entries must be received by Friday 13 January 2012.
