Shanaze Reade turns a corner during the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games

Fearless and determined, Shanaze Reade is a BMX racer who is already in training for the London 2012 Games.

Sporting heroes: Dame Kelly Holmes and Daley Thompson

Sporting career: Shanaze is an Olympian, having competed at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. She has won the UCI BMX World Championships three times and has been a world junior champion twice on the BMX.

Shanaze isn’t just World Champion on the BMX, she also competes in the Team sprint alongside Vicotia Pendleton – they became World Champions in this event in 2007 and 2008.
